The sinuosity of rivers reflects the human condition.
Four allegorical tales explore the human psyche by comparing it to meandering rivers, the sinuosity of which approaches pi, 3.14. This number is related to the bendiness of rivers. Inspired by the reason for this fascinating fact, Garie McIntosh weaves this quartet of short stories. He does so similarly to how the sinuosity, the curves, of these rivers “erode the outer bank more quickly than the inner bank and the river moves outward, creating a larger bend.”

The hope is that the reader explores these stories to find the curve of their own rivers. While that measurement may not be related to pi, the reason for any number of facts in our lives could be as fascinating as pi in relation to rivers around the world.
